    In brief

As part of the Richard Strauss Days at the Semperoper, the internationally celebrated opera star and concert singer Christiane Karg together with renowned pianist-accompanist Gerold Huber are presenting a programme entirely devoted to Richard Strauss and his development as a composer of song. The soprano and her accompanist will explore the multifaceted oeuvre of the great composer, beginning with his earliest vocal works and continuing with the compositions he wrote for his (later) wife Pauline de Ahna, ending with his late songs, which were marked by the experience of war and loss.
